Ideal Wins Best Use of Digital

We are absolutely delighted to have been announced as Winners of the ‘Best Use of Digital’ category at the Family Business Awards 2017 at a glittering black-tie ceremony at The Velodrome, Derby Arena on Thursday 9th November.

The 2017 Winners and Highly Commended in each category were announced in the unique surroundings of The Velodrome at Derby Arena, where finalists, sponsors and judges gathered to celebrate an array of fantastic family businesses.

The Family Business Awards are the UK’s only independent not-for-profit awards for family businesses, and probably amongst the best organised and most enjoyable business awards in the UK.

Established in 2010, the Family Business Awards is a charitable initiative organised by Nottinghamshire family business The Wilson Organisation. Through the Awards, The Wilson Organisation aim to create an ethical, friendly and supportive community for family businesses.

“This is the eighth year for the Awards and once again the Awards team, the panel of judges and each of the sponsors has been bowled over by the exceptional quality, pedigree, innovation and performance of each and every one of our finalists. We are delighted to be able to showcase the vitality of the Midlands’ family business sector and its significant contribution to the region’s economy.”

Charlotte Perkins, MD of Wilsons

The Best Use of Digital award category is for family businesses from all sectors and across all generations that have embraced the digital world to drive success. Digital has been embraced across many sectors from manufacturing to hospitality, using a wide range of technologies from CAD and 3D printing to websites, apps and social media. But what did the judges want to see?

  • Details of the digital initiative/s and the business objectives behind them.
  • Research, planning and strategy utilised.
  • Evidence of impact on the family business; increase in enquiries, bookings, sales, increase in web traffic etc.
  • Cost of implementation on the basis of quality, cost and value for money to the family business.
  • Plans for the future use of digital.

We’re very proud of the way that we’ve embraced the use of digital here at Ideal, and we’d really like to thank the amazing Eleonora Marton and the lovely folks at Hub for helping us deliver an exciting, unique and idiosyncratic digital approach.
