SME Nationals

As well as being finalists in the Green Award category, we were really delighted to be announced as runner-up in the Best Website category at The SME National Business Awards, hosted on Friday 7th December at Wembley Stadium in London.

2018 is the second year of the SME National Business Awards, which were established as a way to raise the profile of industrious, hardworking and enterprising SMEs Nationally. The SME National Business Awards are made up of 17 categories. All entries are judged by a national panel of judges.

It’s really wonderful to receive recognition for all the time, effort and care we put into preparing such a unique website and it seems fitting to receive this acknowledgement just as we begin work on redesigning the new The Periodic Table of Laundry – along with a refresh of www.idealmanufacturing.com

SME stands for Small Medium Enterprise.  Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are businesses whose personnel numbers are 250 employees or less, with the abbreviation SME being used in the European Union. SMEs are also said to be responsible for driving innovation and competition in many economic sectors.

Here’s the official judging criteria for ‘Website of the Year’ which only just lost out to the overall winner.

Irrespective of company size, a website should say it all. It should look great, be really easy to navigate, showcase whatever it is you do – but most importantly, it should engage the viewer and keep them on your site for as long as you need them!

We’re very proud of our site – but we MUST thank our brilliant illustrator Eleonora Marton & the patient team at HUB who have helped us build the type of site we wanted to make. We’re still working on it now!
